Agenda:
- Our group have decided and chose to work on The Lost Food Project ( TLFP ) for our Creative CSR Campaign. This NGO focus on preventing food waste and providing nutrition to the hungry population. Moreover, their mission provides us the opportunity to create a creative campaign that encourages young people like us to participate in sustainable solutions, and at the same time, raise awareness.
- Game plan as a group: We have all agreed that each member will come out with a booth concept, design a team logo, and come up with at least two products to sell. We will then review all the ideas in the upcoming meeting and collectively decide on the most suitable ones to move forward with.

Short reflection:
I chose The Lost Food Project (TLFP) because I believe their mission is meaningful and practical. TLFP recovers good edible food that others would have wasted and distributes it to those who really need it. I feel this is a smart way to solve two problems at once, reducing food waste and helping those who are hungry. I am impressed by what they do, as it demonstrates that we do not have to be rich or powerful to contribute, even giving away something simple like beans or bread can make a difference to a family.
Game plan:
For the ideation stage of our CSR campaign booth, I decided to use both mung bean and red bean as the main ingredients because they are affordable and meaningful. I plan to design a colorful setup with red and green accents, mascots or a photo corner. In my opinion, I will offer three drinks and a crunchy snack. In raising awareness about The Lost Food Project, every cup will have a brief message or a QR code redirecting to the facts about food rescue and the money we earn will be donated to help TLFP in its purpose.

Short reflection:
My group chose The Lost Food Project (TLFP) for the NGO organization, and I agreed. Their mission is to reduce food loss and feed vulnerable citizens, which is both practical and inspiring to me. I think food loss is one of the major problems in the world and should be given more awareness and solved. The organization of TLFP takes extra high-quality food that is edible from food companies and distributes it to those who need it, such as orphans, the homeless, refugees, and so on. They contribute not only to reducing food waste but also, at the same time, they support our society. Their work aligns with my values of sustainability and social responsibility, and I thought it would be interesting and meaningful learning.
Game Plan:
I decided to create a healthy and meaningful snack. I named it the “Rescue Bar.” It is a handmade granola bar made with affordable ingredients such as oats, broken nuts, dried fruits, and crushed cereal. These foods usually tend to be disposed of or left over. I plan to design a simple and eco-friendly shop with natural colours, such as brown and green decorations, in order to show the idea of reducing waste and protecting nature and the earth. I believe that the Rescue Bar is a practical product that aligns with TLFP’s mission to reduce food waste and help the community. It is easy to prepare, nutritious, and perfect for university students and staff who want a quick bite with a purpose. And the thing we must not forget is that all profits from the sales will be donated to TLFP.

Short reflection:
I totally agreed with my group's suggestion on choosing The Lost Food Project (TLFP) as our NGO. As someone who is fortunate to have regular access to food, I have a strong sense of empathy toward those who struggle with food insecurity, knowing that food is essential for survival. TLFP plays a crucial role by collecting surplus yet still safe and nutritious food from manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, and redistributes these food and other essential items to those who need it the most, regardless of religion, gender, age, disability or ethnic group. This not only helps alleviate hunger, but also mitigates environmental damage associated with food waste.
Game Plan:
I will conduct research to select a suitable theme and develop the concept for my booth. To gather inspiration, I plan to explore references from platforms such as Pinterest, Google, Instagram, and Facebook. These visual references will be compiled into a mood board to help direct the overall theme and aesthetic of my booth. Additionally, I will create sketches to visualise and plan the booth’s layout and setup more effectively.
I will also conduct research on the type of product I intend to sell. Since our target audience consists of UOW Malaysia students and lecturers, I aim to develop a product that will appeal to their interests. Furthermore, the product design must align with the overall concept. Thus, when people own the item, it serves as a reminder of the NGO and the contribution they made through their purchase.

Short reflection:
I chose to highlight The Lost Food Project (TLFP) since their mission strongly speaks to me. They recover excess food that would otherwise be discarded and redistribute it to people who are facing hunger. This straightforward yet effective strategy addresses food waste and food insecurity simultaneously. What strikes me is how inclusive their cause is that everyone can help in some manner. It's touching to see how even small acts, like donating everyday food items, can have an impact on someone's life.
Game Plan:
I will begin by doing research to identify a nice theme and developing a strong concept for my booth. For inspiration, I will check out visual references on sites such as Google, Instagram, and Facebook. These references will then be compiled into a mood board to guide the whole theme, color scheme, and appearance of the booth. Aside from this, I will design sketches to picture and plan the booth layout for better and more effective arrangement.

Short reflection:
My group has chosen to support The Lost Food Project (TLFP). They are a non-profit establishment that discourages food wastage and aims to fight it. They are a community who strives to give the hungry what the rich sees as mere excess. This speaks to me, as there any many hungry people that find it hard to eat and get by. And this touches me on a deeper level as when I stayed in China, the people there, who used to be hungry during the 50's, now waste food and dump excess into food waste cans like their ancestors had never starved before. This pains me, and hence, my support of this NGO is proven.
Game Plan:
Research begins with me reading and understanding what TLFP's general theme is. Understanding the way they handle text, visuals and audio will truly help in the design stage. It is then important to draft a sketch, and create a moodboard based on these advances.
For the product, I will be doing research on what product is appropriate to sell, as well as considering the costs, availability of material as well as profitability of the final product.

Short Reflection:
Our group has chosen to support The Lost Food Project (TLFP). This organization is dedicated to reducing food waste and helping those in need, which is really well captured by their tagline: “Feed the hungry, not the landfill.” In tough times like these, it’s really important to support vulnerable communities and to those in need. While many people take food for granted, what seems like nothing much to one person could mean everything to someone else. TLFP rescues surplus food from farms, markets, and bakeries, and redistributes it to those who need it most. That is why I believe supporting this NGO is both meaningful and necessary.
Game Plan:
I plan to do research on the history of TLFP's logo as to inspire my designs to align their visuals and designing of logos. I also plan to sketch my the final design of the booth to better visualize the final setup. As for the products that I would like to sell in the booth, I would do some researching to find products that would be appealing to our target audience which are the students and staff at UOW Malaysia.
Adam Arief bin Hanizam
Short Reflection:
Choosing The Lost Food Project (TLFP) as our NGO was a thoughtful decision grounded in the urgent issue of food insecurity and waste. I was drawn to TLFP because of its unique and practical mission: rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to those in need. In a world where millions go hungry while tons of food are wasted daily, I found their work deeply meaningful and impactful. The NGO’s focus on sustainability, social justice, and community empowerment aligned closely with my values, which made it an easy and purposeful choice for our group.
Game Plan:
Moving forward, my main priority is to deepen my understanding of TLFP’s operations, partnerships, and current initiatives. I plan to conduct thorough research using their official reports, media coverage, and interviews or testimonials from volunteers and beneficiaries. This will help me gain new insights on different ways to design our logo and create an appropriate concept.
One idea I’m currently exploring is to create a funding concept that combines awareness with fundraising, perhaps a community-based campaign or event that educates the public on food waste while encouraging donations or sponsorships. I’m also considering reaching out to local businesses or food establishments to build a network of donors for TLFP. By combining research with creative outreach, I hope to support TLFP in scaling its impact while gaining valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit collaboration.
